Daksh Mahadev Temple Daksh prajapati

Daksh Mahadev Temple of Lord Shiva is one of the most visited temples in Haridwar. It is situated in Kankhal town near Haridwar. Sati's father's name was King Daksh Parjapati and it is known as Daksh Mahadev Temple or Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple after the name of Sati's father. In the month of Sawan, a lots of Shiv devotees visit here and also perform te puja on this temple. It is just 3 km from Railway Staion Haridwar, approx 5 km from Har Ki Paur Ghat, and 3.5 km from Gobind Bhawan Haridwar.

Shivratri is one of the most auspicious days of worship of Lord Shiva. Shiva devotees also observe a fast on this day and bathe the Shivalinga with Ganga water in the morning. Milk, fruits, and sweets are offered to Shiva. On the day of Maha Shivratri, special worship is done in Daksh temple. Thousands of people visit on this day. This day is dedicated to Shiva. It's said that a person prays to here and Shivji fulfills his wish.
